Hi there! I’m Isabel, and I have been a Boston newborn photographer since 2012. I have sat with hundreds of families in those tender, exhausted, completely overwhelming first days after a baby arrives, and I have heard the same thing over and over again once they see their images.
“I am so glad we did this.”
Not one family has ever told me they wished they had skipped it. Not once.
But I do hear from parents who waited too long, who talked themselves out of it, who told themselves it was not a priority. And I understand that completely. There is so much to plan when a baby is coming. The nursery, the gear, the baby shower, the birth plan. Photography can feel like one more thing on a very long list.
What I want you to know is this. Those first weeks with your newborn will never come again. The way your baby tucks their little knees up under them. The way their whole face fits in the palm of your hand. The smell of them. The weight of them on your chest. It is the most fleeting season of parenthood, and it moves so fast that most parents cannot even believe it afterward.
That is why a Boston newborn session is not just photography. It is one of the most meaningful decisions you will make for your family.

Newborns change so rapidly that most parents are stunned by how quickly the earliest days pass. The curled-up, sleepy, brand-new stage lasts only the first couple of weeks of life. After that, babies begin to stretch out, become more alert, and the tiny newborn look fades.
I always tell families: if you are currently pregnant, schedule your session now. Book it before your due date. I am flexible around when your baby actually arrives, and scheduling early means you are not scrambling in those first exhausted days to find a photographer with availability.
That is exactly the kind of thing I take care of so you do not have to worry about it.

This is the part Boston parents love most.
I come to you. Your home, your couch, your nursery, your light. You do not have to pack up a newborn and worry about timing feeds around a drive. You do not have to put a tiny baby in a car seat and navigate Boston traffic two weeks postpartum. You just stay home, get comfortable, and let me handle everything.
I bring:
All you need is the baby. I take care of the rest.
Sessions are typically about two hours, and we follow your baby’s rhythm completely. If your little one needs a feeding, a diaper change, or twenty minutes of gentle soothing, we do that. There is no rushing. There is no pressure. My whole goal is to make this feel like the most relaxed, pampered morning of your postpartum weeks.

One of the things I feel most strongly about is that your images should live in your home, not on a USB tucked in a desk somewhere.
After your session, I sit down with you to help you design something tangible that fits your space. This might be a custom heirloom album, a wall portrait, a gallery arrangement designed specifically for your home. I handle the design so you do not have to make those decisions alone.
This is the full-service experience I have built over more than a decade of working with Boston families. It is not just about handing you a file. It is about creating something you will see every single day and that your children will one day hold in their hands and treasure.
Clients at Isabel Sweet Photography typically invest in the full experience, which includes the session, their digital images, and a tangible art product. You can view current details on pricing to understand what is included.

I encourage parents, siblings, and even your fur babies to be part of the session. These are your family keepsakes, and they will be cherished forever.
I know that a lot of moms are not feeling their most confident two weeks postpartum. That is completely understandable, and I never push. But I will tell you this: even the shyest moms almost always change their mind by the end of the session. We always end up capturing a few beautiful images of mom and baby, and they are always among the most beloved.
If you have a partner, a toddler, a dog, or a grandparent visiting from out of town, bring them in. The more the merrier. Those layered family moments are the ones that make your gallery feel whole.

I have been photographing Boston families since 2012. Over those years, I have worked in tiny apartments and large homes, in spaces with no natural light and spaces with gorgeous windows, with the calmest babies and the most determined little ones who had opinions about every pose.
I have learned to work with all of it. I bring studio lights when I need them. I adapt to your space. I know how to handle newborns safely and gently, and I know how to make parents feel at ease.
I am also a member of Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep, an organization I am proud to support, and my work has been recognized by organizations in the Boston photography community that families often look to when searching for someone they can trust.
When you invite me into your home during those first fragile, beautiful weeks, I do not take that lightly. You will often hear me say, “Don’t worry, I’ve got you!” And I mean it.

Boston parents make a thousand decisions before their baby arrives. What stroller to get. What bassinet is safest. What pediatrician to choose. And each of those decisions matters.
But newborn photography is the one investment that does not wear out, does not get returned, and does not become obsolete. It does not stop working. It only becomes more precious with time.
Ten years from now, you will not remember exactly which stroller you used. You will absolutely remember the morning a photographer sat in your living room, gently swaddled your newborn, and handed you images that made you cry.
That is what I do for Boston families. And I would love to do it for yours.
If you are expecting, do not wait until after your baby is born to reach out. The newborn photography window is small, and I book up quickly. Get in touch now and we will plan everything around your due date together.

Is Newborn Photography Worth the Investment?
Yes, and I say that not as a sales pitch but from more than a decade of hearing parents tell me how glad they are that they did it. The newborn stage is the most fleeting of all the stages of parenthood. The images from that time become among the most treasured things a family owns, and unlike most purchases, they only grow in meaning. When you factor in the full-service experience, including styling support, wardrobe, session planning, and custom artwork design, it is an investment in something genuinely lasting.
When Should I Book a Boston Newborn Photographer?
I recommend booking your session while you are still pregnant. I work around your due date and can schedule flexibly once your baby arrives. This ensures you have availability secured for those critical first two weeks, which is when newborn photography is most beautiful and when the sleepy, curled-up newborn look is at its most perfect. Reaching out early also gives us time to plan the session together so everything feels seamless.
What if I am nervous about being photographed right after having a baby?
This is one of the most common concerns I hear, and it is completely understandable. I provide wardrobe dresses so you do not have to search for something to wear. I offer styling guidance and create a calm, comfortable environment in your own home. Most moms who come in feeling nervous leave feeling beautiful. The goal of your session is for you to feel pampered, not pressured, and I take that seriously every single time.
How Does an In-Home Newborn Photography Session Work?I come to your home with everything needed for the session. I bring wraps, blankets, and studio lighting if needed. Sessions flow at your baby’s pace, with time built in for feedings, diaper changes, and soothing. Afterward, we sit down together to select your images and design your artwork. You do not have to figure any of that out on your own. From the first inquiry to the final
