I have heard so many parents think they missed the window for newborn photos since their baby is a few weeks older… but no, it’s never too late! Though “traditional newborn photos” are usually scheduled within the first two weeks of life, capturing a baby before their sitting stage can be incredibly special. At this age, they are still teeny tiny, but at this more active stage, we can also capture a baby’s personality: their many faces, smiles, and giggles.
Older babies have better head control and manual dexterity which leads to photographing them in different positions such as during tummy time, grabbing their toes, or holding their heads up while being held by parents.
Also, this stage is perfect for showcasing how babies interacting with their parents: smiling, cooing, and holding their parent’s hand. These sweet interactions are definitely worth documenting.
If you’re interested in a newborn session, no matter how old your baby is, I’d love to work with you on documenting this special time in your family’s life. Contact me now!
